Phil Rossi’s journey is rooted in a lifelong love of music, storytelling, and genuine connection. With a background in radio broadcasting, Phil has always had a natural ability to engage an audience, whether behind a microphone in a studio or in front of a crowd. Now as a Lead DJ and Officiant with 3 West Productions, he brings that same conversational ease and polished presence to weddings and events, creating experiences that feel both effortless and deeply personal.
In this get-to-know-you interview, we step beyond the DJ booth to learn more about the moments and interests that shape Phil outside of his events. From his personal music preferences and favorite rainy day movies to the story of how he found his way to the 3 West Productions team, this conversation offers a closer look at the personality behind the playlists. Come with us as we learn more about the man behind the mic!
Where did you grow up?
"South Philadelphia, born and raised. In my bedroom, playing Nintendo 64 is where I spent most of my days."
How did you get into DJ-ing? Also, how long have you been DJ-ing?
"I got into DJ’ing while working as an on-air radio announcer. Most radio DJs have great voices and delivery, but many don’t know how to actually mix songs together like you should at weddings. I wanted to learn, and so I did. I have been DJ’ing since I was 18 years old, so 18 years now. Being on the radio also really helped me with emceeing at weddings, along with Officiating couples' ceremonies."
When and how did you start working with 3 West Productions?
"I started working at 3 West 4 years ago. I heard about the company through a mutual musician friend, and after I checked out their vision and website, I thought their company matched my style and vibe. Once I spoke with Matt and Nissa, I knew this was the entertainment company I wanted to work with, and as they say: the rest is history!"

How would you describe your personal music style?
"My personal music style is simply the hits from all different genres. I love classic songs, particularly from the Great American Songbook. But ultimately, hits are hits for a reason, and if you know it and you can sing all the words to that song, I will duet with you!"
Who is your top musical artist right now?
"My top musical artist right now is Bruno Mars. I appreciate a complete package entertainer, and nobody, in my opinion, can sing, dance, and entertain like Bruno Mars. Bruno is this generation's Michael Jackson! You can debate me, haha."
What are your top 3 dance floor anthems?
"My top three dance floor anthems are Conga - Gloria Estefan, Levels by Avicii, and finally, Came Here For Love - Sigala."

What is one add-on you would recommend to couples, and why?
"The one add-on for me that changes the feel of the party is adding a live saxophone and drummer with the DJ. The live instruments pump me up, it lets us all work together and be creative, and it amplifies the dance floor to another level."
When you aren’t on the dance floor, what do you like to do in your free time?
"I am a big baseball fan (Playing and watching). Go Phils! I enjoy going to the theatre and watching new movies, and finally, I love going to Disney World (I’m definitely a Disney Adult). If you have never been, hit me up and I’ll help book your first trip, lol."
On a rainy day at home, what movie could someone find you watching?
My rainy day movie would either be Terminator 2, Judgement, or any James Bond Film. Probably Goldeneye!"

What is your favorite wedding food or dish of all time?
"My favorite wedding food has to be salmon. It’s my go-to and regardless of where I choose that dish, it’s always been decent."
Fill in the blank: I love when my couples ______
"I love when my wedding couples are 'go with the flow,' and we work together to throw an awesome celebration. The couple who realize they are the stars of the day, and just let go and have fun, have the best weddings I have ever DJ’ed."
What is one wedding story you’ll never forget?
"The one wedding story I’ll never forget was actually one of my weddings from last year. It was the bride's dream to throw hot dogs from the top of the staircase at her guests. It went off without a hitch, and it was so much fun. It was always something she wanted to do, and the only thing I did was play 'Who Let The Dogs Out.' FYI, that was the bride’s request, lol."
From his South Philly roots and radio beginnings to his love of timeless hits, baseball, and a packed dance floor, Phil Rossi brings heart, humor, and effortless style to everything he does. His answers make one thing clear: Phil thrives on creating celebrations that feel authentic, fun, and completely true to each couple’s vision. Whether he’s dueting with guests, amplifying the party with live musicians, or perfectly timing a soundtrack for flying hot dogs, Phil’s goal is always the same: to help couples let go, live in the moment, and enjoy every second of their day. We’re proud to have him as part of the 3 West Productions team and can’t wait for the unforgettable moments he’ll help create next.
