My Story
Growing up in a creative household, Maria gleaned influence from her father, a furniture maker, folk artist, and writer—among his main talents. A story frequently told about Maria is that her mother was painting before her birth. Her brothers and half sister all took on artistic paths through construction, graphic design, videography, and floral arrangement. Maria being the youngest, has respectively assisted in all the endeavors of her family, with brushwork and penmanship being her most prominent efforts.

Maria’s goals are to provide a timeless art experience at live events, offering framed deliverables that day. Works are created on paper provided by some of the oldest practicing mills in operation to date.

My Style
Maria paints in watercolor, a painting medium known for fluidity and flexibility on paper. Her favorite paint is by M. Graham & Co., using blackberry honey as a non-drying agent for tube pigments, and gum arabic as a natural binder. Van Gogh and Windsor Newton are other classic, quality brands among her pallet. The longevity of watercolor is expected to last beyond generations; with Western paintings from as far back as the 1400’s in exceptional preservation. The technique itself is evidenced since the Paleolithic period around the globe.
